Movement at the open field areas 15.5. - 30.7.
Due to nesting of endangered birds, people should avoid movement near and at the open field areas from 15th May to 30th July. Construction work and other activity will be timed so that disturbance to the breeding sites is minimised.
If your work involves entering the field areas, you should contact the construction manager (mr. Risto Niva +358 44 703 2782, email: firstname.lastname@ouka.fi).
This announcement is part of conservation work of a committee appointed by the city of Oulu, which aims to enhance the conservation of endangered birds and to minimize conflicts between man activities and birds. Other measures include, e.g. haymaking and clearing of overgrowth. An ornithologist will conduct research along the summer.
