The port of Oulu has three parts: Oritkari, Nuottasaari and Vihreäsaari. Containers and forest industry products are mainly handled in Oritkari. Raw materials for the forest industry are processed in Nuottasaari. Liquid fuels and bulk products are handled in Vihreäsaari.

400 YERS OF EXPERIENCE

The port of Oulu is located in the fastest growing city in Northern Europe. The year-round general port is the leading forest industry and large unit port in the Botnian Bay. The history of seafaring and the merchant fleet in the region is impressive, Oulu has had a port since the 14th century. The draft of the channel leading to the port of Oulu is 12.50 m (since 2018). Port of Oulu owns large areas of land around it. Therefore, the port of Oulu has excellent opportunities to take into account the needs of customers by adapting the storage and processing halls.

The three parts of Oulu harbor have a total of 1,460 m of quays. There are further connections from the port of Oulu both by road and rail. Close to the port is also Oulu Airport, which is the second busiest airport in Finland.

ISO-CERTIFICATES

The port of Oulu has three international certificates that guide the operation of the port: ISO 9001, ISO 14001 ja OHSAS 18001.

ISO 9001 deals with the requirements of quality management systems. The environmental system certificate ISO 14001 emphasizes a risk-oriented way of thinking, which includes the identification of risks and opportunities. OHSAS 18001 guides the occupational health and safety system.
